(1) There shall be a Dean, Students' Welfare, who shall be a whole-time officer of the University and shall be directly responsible to the Vice-Chancellor in carrying out his duties and responsibilities mentioned in the Statutes and the Regulations. (2) The Dean, Students' Welfare, shall be appointed by the Vice- Chancellor with the approval of the Council on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed. (3) The Dean, Students' Welfare, shall be the chief co-ordinator to promote students' welfare activities including all extra-curricular activities. (4) The Dean, Students' Welfare, shall be responsible for proper maintenance of students' discipline in the hostels, messes and various functions and activities. (5) The Resident Supervisor-cum-National Service Scheme Co- ordinator and all other staff related with students' welfare shall be under the administrative control of the Dean, Students' Welfare. (6) All funds related with the students' welfare shall be maintained by the Dean, Students' Welfare. (7) The Dean, Students' Welfare, shall be in charge of student placement cell and shall also be in charge of campus interviews, if required by private agencies. (8) The Dean, Students' Welfare, shall organise coaching classes for service examination and shall explore the possibilities of obtaining scholarships, fellowships, endowments, and medals from different organisations or agencies. (9) The Dean, Students' Welfare, shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed on him by Statutes.
