(1) There shall be a Director of Farms who shall be a whole-time officer of the University. He shall be appointed by the Vice-Chancellor with the approval of the Council, subject to such terms and conditions as may be prescribed. (2) The Director of Farms shall be responsible to the Vice- Chancellor for the faithful observance of the Statutes and the Regulations and such orders as may be issued by the'Vice-Chancellor from time to time. (3) The salary, allowances and other terms and conditions of service of the Director of Farms shall be such as may be prescribed. (4) The Director of Farms shall hold office for a period of four years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further period of four years: Provided that no person shall hold office of the Director of Farms for more than eight years in aggregate: Provided further that the Director of Farms shall retire from the post if, during the term of his office including the term of re-appointment, he attains the age of sixty years.
