(1) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, transfer such assets and liabilities including lands, buildings, books, equipments and laboratories belonging to the former University as may be considered necessary for the proper functioning of the University, keeping in view the overall interest of the former University and the University. (2) All buildings, lands, research farms and other properties belonging to the former University and, located within the northern districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar, Uttar Dinajpur, Dakshin Dinajpur and Malda shall, from the appointed day, stand transferred to the University.
