(I) Any person who has heen convicted of an offence punishable under Lhis Actor the rules or the regulations made thereunder shall, withouL prejudice io any punishment to which he may subjeci, be liable io pay such compensation Tor any damage to any properly of lhe Corporation resulting from such offence as the Mayor-in-Council may consider reasonable. (2) In lhc case of any dispute regarding the amount of compensation under sub- seclion (1), such amount shall, on an application, in writing, made by such person lo lhe Magistrate who convicts such person of such o (fence, be determined by such Magistrate. If the amouni or compensation so determined is nol paid by such person, the same shall be recovered under a warrant from such Magistrate as if il were a fine imposed by him on the person liable therefor.
