(1) In lhe eveni of lhe occurence of any vacancy in the office of Lhe Mayor by reason of his dealh, the Deputy Mayor shall acl as Mayor uniil the dale on which a new Mayor elected in accordance wilh the provisions of ihis Acl io fill sueh vacancy enters upon his office. (2) When lhe Mayor is unable lo discharge his functions owing to absencc, illness or any other cause, lhe Depuiy Mayor shall discharge his functions until the date on which the Mayor resumes his duties. (3) Subject to the otherprovisions of ihis Act, the Deputy Mayorshail, while acting as, or discharging llie Tunciions of, lhe Mayor under this section, have all the powers of lhe Mayor. D.
