After section 2 of the Principal Act, the following section shall be inserted, namely :- "2-A. (1) Besides the Gobind Ballabh Pant Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya in existence at Pantnagar, immediately before the commencement of this section, there shall be established, with effect from such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Gazette appoint in that behalf (hereinafter referred to as the appointed day)- (i) a University at Faizabad to be know as the Narendra Deva Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya; and (ii) a University at Kanpur to be know as Chandrashekhar Azad Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya. (2) In relation to the Universities to be established under sub section (1)- (a) the State Government shall appoint interim officers of the Universities (other than the Chancellor) and shall constitute interim authorities of such Universities, in such manner as itthinks fit; (b) the officers appointed and members of the authorities constituted under clause (a) shall hold office for a term of two years from the date of such appointment or constitution, as the case may be; (c) the State Government shall take steps for the appointment of officers and constitution of authorities of such Universities, in accordance with the provisions of this Act, so that the same may be completed before the expiry of the respective terms of the interim officers and members under clause (b)."
