Exemption of certain licenses from sections 28 to 34 :- Section 28 to 34 shall not apply in the case of any license which it is proposed to grant a) to any person, for the retail sale of any intoxicant, during any period not exceeding one month; or (b) to any person, for the sale of any denatured spirit; or (c) to any person, for the retail sale of any intoxicant in substitution for a license which has been cancelled or withdrawn or surrendered before the expiration of the period for which it was granted ; or which has lapsed on the death’ of the person to whom it was granted ; or (d) to any medical practitioner, chemist, druggist, apothecary or keeper of a dispensary, for the retail sale of any intoxicant for medical purposes.
