Proof of recovery. Whether the evidence of the investigating officer alone is sufficient to prove the recovery depends upon the circumstances of each case. Where the investigation inspires confidence and no criticism can be leveled against the conduct of the investigating agency and good reasons are given for not producing other evidence, it is open, to the Court to accept the uncorroborated testimony of a police officer after a strict scrutiny.
