( 1 ) Notwithstanding anything contained in sections 1 [40A and 41] the 2 [State] Government may, by rules or an order in writing, 3 [authorize an officer to ] grant interim permits to persons applying for permits under any of the said provisions. ( 2 ) Such interim permits shall not be granted for any period exceeding two months.
