Whenever the Government are of opinion that any play, pantomime or other drama performed or about to be performed in a public place, contains any prejudicial report, or is calculated to instigate the commission of a prejudicial act they may by order prohibit the performance; and thereupon the provisions of Sections 3 to 8 of the Travancore Dramatic Performances Act. or Section 49 of the Cochin Dramatic Performances Act, as the case may be. shall apply in relation to any such performance as they apply in relation to any performance prohibited by the Government under Section 2 or Section 3 thereof, as the case may be: Provided that any person who commits in relation to any order made in pursuance of this section any of the offences specified in Sections 3 and 5 of the Travancore Dramatic Performances Act or Sections -4 and 6 of the Cochin Dramatic Performances Act, shall be punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to one year or with fine, or with both.
