Section 11

Term and conditions of service of the Commission.--

(1) A person appointed as a Commission shall hold office for a period of three years from the date he assumes office or until he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier, and shall not be eligible for reappointment. (2) The Commission may, at any time, resign his office by giving notice in writing under his hand to the Government. (3) The Government shall remove a person who is a Commission from office, if he -- (a) becomes an undischarged insolvent; or (b) has been convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for an offence which, in the opinion of the Government involve moral turpitude; or (c) becomes of unsound mind and stand so declared by a competent court; or (d) refuses to work or becomes incapable to work; or (e) in the opinion of the Government, has so abused his official position as to render that person's continuance in office detrimental to the public interest: Provided that no person shall be removed under this sub-section unless he has been given a reasonable opportunity of being heard in the matter. (4) The salary and allowances payable to and the other terms and conditions of the Commission shall be, as may be prescribed.
