If any person removes any mark set up for the purpose of indicating any level, boundary line or direction necessary to the execution of works authorised under this Act, [he shall be liable to a fine, which shall not be less than ten thousand rupees but may extend to fifty thousand rupees, subject to such conditions as may be prescribed]. Substituted by Act 4 of 2025 published in K. G. Ext. No. 1511 dt. 19/04/2025 (w.e.f. 19/04/2025). Prior to the Substitution it read as: "he shall, on conviction, be punished with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees or with both"
