Designated officer.- (1) The Authority may designate or appoint any officer of the Government 1[not below the rank of Assistant Executive Engineer]1 as designated officer to be in charge of one or more tanks, ponds, lakes of district wise to ensure their protection, conservation, development and for any other purpose. (2) the designated officers shall exercise powers under the Act and such other powers as the Authority may by a special or general order confer upon them. (3) The designated officer shall also be competent to receive complaints from any person regarding the contraventions of the provisions of this Act.
