Section 31

Extension Education.

(1) Extension Education Programme shall be established in the University and shall subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes, make useful informations based upon findings of research available to farmers and others to help and solve their problems. It shall conduct demonstrations and training programmes for the benefit of students, extension workers, farmers and home makers. Extension Education shall be co-ordinated with the other functions of the University and other appropriate agencies of the 1 [Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir].. (2) The University shall be responsible for the Agricultural Extension Educational Activities in the 1 [Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] necessary to inform and demonstrate to the farmers the findings of research on improved practices essential to improve rural living and to increase Agricultural Production with special emphasis on food production and utilization. In order that the University may conduct such activities, the 1 [Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] shall transfer to the University the necessary personal, facilities and funds in accordance with a plan to be developed and mutually agreed upon by the Board and the Government.
