1 [(1) Subject to the provision of the Act and the Statutes, the University shall carry on Research Programmes (fundamental as well as applied) on the problems of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and allied sciences for the purpose of aiding the development of Agriculture and for the benefit of rural population.] (2) The University through its research organization shall be the principal agency of control over research activities in the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and allied branches 2 [x x x]. (3) The existing research organizations and experimental stations along with facilities and budget in the field of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and allied branches in the Government Departments shall be transferred to the University with effect from such date as the Government may notify. (4) The University may establish Regional Research Stations and SubStations in the different Agro-climatic zones of the 3 [Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] for the conduct of research including necessary operational research.
