A prisoner may be eligible for consideration for shifting to semi-open air prison, if he, - (a) does not fall within any of the categories specified in rule 947; (b) has served the below mentioned substantive sentence, - (i) 02 years of actual sentence if sentenced for less than 5 years; (ii) 03 years of actual sentence if sentenced for 5 to 10 years; (iii) 05 years of actual sentence if sentenced for a term imprisonment exceeding 10 years; (iv) 08 years of actual sentence if sentenced for life imprisonment; (c) has been regularly performing his assigned task in the prison factory, outside gang or any other prison services satisfactorily; (d) has good character and maintains self-discipline; and (e) has strong group adjustability and sense of responsibility.
