It is the duty of the prison authorities to do what they reasonably can to keep prisoners under their charge in good health and to save them from death. Therefore, if a prisoner is likely to cause his own death by continuously refusing to take food, the Medical Officer may direct that the prisoner be forcibly fed to keep him alive. Forcible feeding shall not be attempted with unnecessary violence. Daily report to Director General.
