(1) The Deputy Superintendent (Industries and Welfare) shall convey the consolidated demand of raw material, machinery tools and implements to the Superintendent well in time to enable the competent authority to arrange for its purchase. (2) The Deputy Superintendent (Industries and Welfare) shall be duty bound to improve the quality of the training and manufacturing work turned out in the workshop, and he shall be responsible that articles not according to specification are specially brought to the notice of the Superintendent. He shall satisfy himself from time to time that the work obtained in each branch of industry is commensurate with the labour employed and the raw material consumed. (3) The Deputy Superintendent (Industries and Welfare) shall make himself acquainted, as far as possible, with the character, skills, individual interest and history of every prisoner working under him so that the best possible result could be obtained in minimum expenditure and time. He shall assist the Superintendent in allotting remissions and granting rewards for good work. He shall 1354 HARYANA GOVT. GAZ. (EXTRA.), DEC. 30, 2022 (PAUS. 9, 1944 SAKA) report to the Superintendent, for punishment, all prisoners failing to complete their allotted tasks or who do not take interest in learning or training or are deliberately doing bad work, as well as all those who are guilty of breaches of prison discipline which come within his cognizance. (4) The Deputy Superintendent (Industries and Welfare) shall reach the prison manufactory sufficiently early each morning to superintend the distribution of the labour groups to check the task sheet and verify the task done by each worker and he shall ordinarily remain inside the prison throughout the day. (5) The Deputy Superintendent (Industries and Welfare) shall personally visit various Government and Non-Government Institutions and acquaint them with the activities of training and production in the prison so that manufacturing orders for various articles in the prison manufactory may be obtained.
