In urgent cases i.e. if the prisoner with mental illness is dangerous, noisy or filthy in his habits, the Superintendent may, with the previous consent of the medical officer in charge of the mental health establishment, transfer the prisoner to the mental health establishment, in anticipation of the sanction from the Government or the Mental Health Review Board. In such cases, while forwarding the prisoner with mental illness, it shall be ensured to send along the documents required vide rule 404, with the exception of transfer order which shall follow immediately after it has been received.
