In case of death of any prisoner, a report shall forthwith be made to the District and Sessions Judge (within whose jurisdiction the death has occurred), and Police Station (within the jurisdiction of which the prison is situated) for taking necessary action under relevant provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) as also the guidelines issued by the National Human Rights Commission and other authorities concerned from time to time.
