Am en dm en t o f Se ction 3 o f Ass am Ac t 1 o f 1953.—In Section5 3 of the Principal Act, the following shall be added as a proviso, namely:— “ Provided that fo r three years from the commencement of the Assam Liquor Prohibition (Amendment) Act, 1956 it shall be lawful for a family of Scheduled Tribes to posses-s Pachwai to the extent of two and half seers; for the purpose of home consumption. Explanation.—The word ‘family’ means persons living together and having a common kitchen” .
