The following shall be the objectives of the University:- (a) to provide instructions, teaching and training in Higher Education and provide for quality research and for advancement and dissemination of knowledge of the most up-to-date standard within the traditional Indian systems of value and spiritual ethos; . (b) to create higher level of intellectual abilities guided by a spirit of service to the society; (c) tocstablish state of the arts facilities for education and training; (d) to create centres of excellence for research and development and for sharing knowledge and its applications; (e) to establ_ish study centres and or constituent colleges at different places within its jurisdiction; (f) 1o establish examination centres within its Jjurisdiction; (g) to institute degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions on the basis of examinations, or any other such method; (h) o ensure that the standard of degrees, diplomas and certificates and other academic distinctions are not lower than those laid down by the regulating authorities All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE), University Grants Commission (UGC), Medical Council of India (MCI), Pharmacy Council, and other similar agencies established by the Central Government for regulation of education; (i) to create an atmosphere towards development of an education in the spirit of the Indian moral and ethical values; () to pursue any other objective as may be approved by the Government. 9672 THE ASSAM GAZETTE, EXTRAORDINARY, OCTOBER 13, 2022 Powers and functions of the University.
