Filling of Casual Vacancies : (1) Any casual vacency among the members, other than ex-officio members, of anyAuthority or body of the University shall be filled in the same manner in which the memberwhose vacancy is to be filled up, was chosen, and the person filling the vacancy shall be a member of such authority or body for the residue of the term for which the pe6on in whose place he/she fills would have been a member (2) ln the event ofdeath, suspension or temporary absence or pending appojntment of the RegisFar or he Chief Finance Officer or the Drector or any such officer ofthe urliversity, the Chancellor may under his discretion authorize any otficerto perfdrm the duties of such vacant ' posttill appointment is made. rl8. Protection of Action taken in good faith : No suit, prosecution or other legal proceedings shall lie against the chancellor, the authorities orthe officers ofthe University or any employee of the University in respect of anything which ts done in good faith or purported to have done in pursuance of thisAct or the statutes orany regulations made there under
