(1) An Anchalik Parishad shall have the power to acquire, hold and dispose of property and to enter into contracts. (2) An Anchalik Parishad may, with the previous sanc- tion of the State Government, acquire land under the pro- visions of any law for the time being in force for carrying out the purposes of this Act.
