(1) The Registrar shall be a whole-time officer of the University The and shall be appointed by the Council on the recommendation of a Registrar. committee appointed for the purpose. (2) The salary and allowances payable to the Registrar shall be such as may be prescribed. (3) The Registrar shall be responsible for the due custody of the records and the common seal of the University. He shall, by virtue of his being the ex officio non-member Secretary to the Council under sub- section (2) of section 18, place before the Council all such information as may be necessary for the transaction of business. He shall keep a permanent record of all cources, curricula and other information as may be deemed necessary. (4) The Registrar shall perform such other functions as may be prescribed or as may be assigned to him by the Council or the Vice- Chancellor.
