(1) With effect from such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint, there shall be established for the purposes of this Act a Corporation, namely, the West Bengal Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation. (2) The Corporation shall be a body corporate with perpetual succession and a common seal, and may sue or be sued in its corporate name, and shall be competent by the name notified under sub-section (1), having perpetual succession and a common seal, and shall by the said name sue and be sued.
