(1) (a) The Chairman shall— (i) exercise general supervision and control over the Director; (ii) assign to each member of the Governing Body, the Academic Advisory Committee, or any other Committee constituted under this Act such duties as he thinks fit. (b) The Chairman may, in any emergency, exercise any of the powers of the Vidyalaya, provided, however, that he shall not act contrary to any decision of the Vidyalaya and shall, as soon thereafter as may be, report to the Governing Body the action taken by him in exercise of any such power together with the reasons- therefor. 106 The Rabindra Mukta Vidyalaya Act, 2001. (2) The Director shall— (a) be responsible for carrying out, and for giving effect to, the decisions of the Governing Body or of any Committee constituted under this Act; (b) sanction such claims for allowances, and at such rates, as the State Government may determine; and (c) take such other action, not inconsistent with any decision of the Governing Body, as he considers necessary for the proper functioning of the Vidyalaya.
