Section 9

(1) There shall be a President and a Vice-President of the Board

(1) There shall be a President and a Vice-President of the Board. (2) The President and the Vice-President shall be elected by the members of the Board from among themselves in such manner as may be prescribed and shall, subject to the provisions of section 10, hold office for a term of four years mentioned in section 7: President and Vice- President of the Board. Provided that until a President is elected by the members of the Board for the first time the State Government may appoint a person to be the President of the Board and the person so appointed shall hold office until a President is elected by the members of the Board and assumes office. (3) The President and the Vice-President shall receive such pay or allowances or both as may be fixed by the State Government. (4) The President may resign his office by giving notice in writing to the State Government and when such resignation is accepted by the State Government the President shall be deemed to have vacated his office. (5) The Vice-President may resign his office by giving notice in writing to the President and when such resignation is accepted by the President the Vice-President shall be deemed to have vacated his office.
