(1) The Chairman may, at any time, by giving a notice in writing to the State Government, resign his office and the procedure for acceptance or otherwise of the resignation shall be such as may be prescribed. (2) When-- (i) the office of the Chairman falls vacant by reason of death, resignation, removal or otherwise, or (ii) the Chairman is, by reason of leave, illness or other cause temporarily unable to exercise the powers, perform the functions and discharge the duties of his office, the Member-Secretary shall, exercise the powers, perform the functions and discharge the duties of the Chairman until a Chairman is appointed and assumes office or until the Chairman resumes his duties, as the case may be. (3) In the case of casual vacancies in the office of the Member-Secretary and other members caused by death, resignation, removal or otherwise, the State Gpvernment may appoint the Member-Secretary and other members, as the case maybe.
