( 1 ) Every oficer, clerk, agent or orhcr pcrson who performs any duty in connection with h e recording or counung of volcs ar an elcclion . shall maintain, and aid in maintaining, (hc sccrecy ofthe vodng and shall not (except forsome purposeauthorised by orunder any law) communicate to any pcrson any information calculated to violatc such sccrccy.
