(1) The Registrar shall be a whole-time officer of the University and shall be appointed by the Executive Council on the recommendation of a Committee consisting of the Vice-Chancellor as Chairman and two nominees of the Executive Council, a nominee of the Chancellor and a nominee of the State Government. (3) If the Registrar is for any reason temporarily unable to exercise the powers or perform the duties of his office, the Vice-Chancellor may, with the approval of the Executive Council, appoint a Teacher of the University or an officer of the University, temporarily for a total period not exceeding six months, to exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Registrar.
