(1) This Act may be called the Jadavpur University Act, 1981. Short title and (2) This section and section 54 shall come into force at once; and the commence- remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force on such date or dates ment as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act.
