(1) Any person committing an offence under section 24 may, if his name and address be unknown, be arrested by any officer of police and forthwith conveyed before a Magistrate having jurisdiction in the place in which such offence has been committed, or shall be taken to the nearest police-station within the said jurisdiction, in order that such person may be detained until he can be brought before a Magistrate or until he shall enter into a recognizance with or without sureties for his appearance before a Magistrate.
