(1) There shall be eight zones of the Commission consisting of following: Burdwan University zone, Calcutta University zone, Gour Banga University zone, Kalyani University zone, North Bengal University zone, Sidho Kanho Birsha University zone, Vidyasagar University zone, West Bengal State University (Barasat, North 24-Parganas) zone: Appointment of Principals, Assistant Professor and Librarians of Government aided Colleges in West Bengal. Manner of selection of Principals, Assistant Professors and Librarians. Provided that there may be further zone or zones of the Commission as may be notified by the State Government from time to time. (2) The jurisdictional limit of every zone of the Commission may be determined by the State Government in consultation with the Commission, by order.
