(1) Every Co-operative society shall be required to be affiliated to be State Co-operative Union or the District Co-operative Union, as the case may be, and the central society or the respective apex society, as the case may be, on payment of the prescribed affiliation fee, periodical fee, subscription or contribution to share capital, as the case may be, and shall be required to be so organised as to promote the object of the Co-operative societies to which it is affiliated. (2) Non-compliance with the provisions of sub-section (1) shall be punishable with such penalty, not exceeding five hundred rupees, as may be prescribed.
