(1) Any register of members or shares kept by a co-operative society in the prescribed manner shall be prima facie evidence of any of the following particulars entered therein— (a) the date on which the name of any person was entered in such register or list as a member; and (b) the date on which any such person ceased to be a member. (2) Where the register of members is not available for whatever reason it may be, the detailed list of members with shareholding enclosed with audit report, if any, shall be treated as prima facie evidence of membership as on the date the balance sheet is drawn up.
