Every person who is a Counci 1 lor3* **.shall, before taking his seal al a meeting of lhe Corporaiion, make and subscribe before a person io be nominated by lhe Stale Government in this behalf an oath or affirmation of his allegiance to the Constitution of India in the following from;— I. A.B., being a Councillor1* * * of theJ [Kolkata] Municipal Corporation, do solemnly swear/solemnly affirm thai I will bear true failh and allegiance lo lhe Constitution of India as by law established and thai 1 will faithfully discharge lhe duties upon which I am about to enter.
