The provisions or this Chapter shall have effect notwithstanding anything io lhc contrary contained elsewhere in Lhis AcL. 633, The provisions of Lhe '[Kolkaia] MunicipalAct, 1923,asextended to the Municipality orHowrah under that Aci and in force immediately before the commencement of lhis Act shall continue lo be in force subject lo the modifications specified in Schedule VII until the provisions of this Act are extended to that Municipality under this Acl.
