(1) No place other lhan a municipal market shall be used as a market unless such place lias been licensed as a market by the Municipal Commissioner under seciion 436. (2) No placc other lhan a municipal slaughter-house shall be used as a slaughter-house: Provided lhat nothing in lliis stib-seciion shall be deemed— (a) to restrict the slaughter of any animal in any place on the occasion of any religions festival or ceremony, subject lo such conditions (non- compliance wiih which shall be punishable under this Acl) as lhe Municipal Commissioner may, by public or special notice, impose in this behalf, or (b) lo prevent the Municipal Commissioner from selling apart wiih lhe sanction of lhe Mayor-in-Council, any place for the slaughter of animals in accordance with religious custom. (3) The Municipal Commissioner may in accordance with such regulations as may be made by the Corporation in this behalf require lhe owner or the occupier orany licensed private markel lo provide approach roads or passage or pave, drain or light lhe same or provide such conveniences for lhe use of persons resorting Lo such markets as lie may deem fit.
