'(1) The salaries and allowances, if any, of lhe members of the Municipal Service Commission and the officers and other employees thereof shall be paid from Lhe Municipal Fund. - l(2) The Stale Government may, by notification, fix lhe amount of contribution payable by Lhe Howrah Municipal Corporation -[or the Siliguri Municipal Corporation or the Asansol Municipal Corporation] or the Chandemagore Municipal Corporation •'[or the Durgapur Municipal Corporation] or any municipality or noLified area authority, as the case may be, in respect or services rendered by the Municipal Service Commission constituted under sub-section (1) of section 26 for selection oflheir personnel undersub-section (5 A) or section 26 and such contribution shall be credited to the Municipal Fund or the ""[Kolkata] Municipal Corporation. iC. (3) The Vigilance Authority may appoint such officers and other employees for such period and on such pay as the Stale Government may sanction and on such terms and conditions as the State Government may determine: Provided that no member of the Corporation ororaCommittee thereof and no officcr or other employee or the Corporation shal I be el igi b le to be appointed as an officer or other employee under the Vigilance Authority. (4) The salary of the Vigilancc Authority and or the officers and other employees appointed under sub-seciion (3) and all other expenses relating to the establishment of the Vigilance Authority shall be paid out of Ihe Municipal Fund. ' (5) The other terms and conditions of service including discipline, control and conduct of officers and other employees under lhe Vigilance Authority shall be such ns may be determined by the Slate Government. (6) The powers and functions or the Vigilance Authority shall be such as may be prescribed. (7) The Vigilance Authority shall not be removed or suspended from office without being given an opportunity of being heard. (8) In the ease of non-acceplance or partial acceptance or acceptance in a modified form or any recommendation or the Vigilance Authority by the Corporation, :[the Corporation shall refer lhe matter to the Slate Government for decision, and ihe decision or the Stale Government thereon shall be final.] 'Sub-section (2) was substituted for the original by s. 3 of the Calcutta Municipal Corporaiion (Amendment) Ai;i. 1997 {West Ben.
