(1) The Chief Municipal Auditor shall audii lhe accounts of the Corporaiion wilh llic assistance of the officers and lhe oiher employee subordinate to him. (2) In the discharge of his functions under this seclion, llie Chief Municipal Auditor shall audit the accounls of— (a) expenditure from [he revenue of the Corporation, expcndilure on account of loan and works, and other expcndilure, if any, and shall ascertain whelher the moneys shown lherein as having been disbursed were legally availahle for, and applicable (o, lhe services or purposes to which iliey were applied and whether such expenditure was an expenditure authorised under this Acl; , (h) debts, deposits in lhe Sinking Funds, advances, suspense, and remittance transactions of the Corporation and shall report upon such accounts and the results of verification of ihe balances in such accounts; (c) stores and slocks of ilie Corporation and shall undertake such physical verification thereof as he mnv consider nt-ressnrv The Kolkaia Municipal Corporation Act. 1980. (3) The Chief Municipal Auditor shall check the inventory of the properties oflhe Corporalion including ils holdings of lands and buildings and shall undertake such physical verification thereof as he may consider necessary. (4) The Chief Municipal Auditor shall, subject to any directions given hy the Municipal Commissioner determine the form and the manner in which his reports on the accounls of the Corporation.shall be prepared and shall have the authority to call upon any officcr of the Corporation to furnish any information necessary for the preparation of lhc reports.
