Subject to the provisions of this Act the Statutes may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely :— (1) the constitution, powers and duties of the authorities; (2) the powers, functions, duties, manner of appointment and the terms and conditions of service of the officers other than the Chancellor; (3) the designation, manner of appointment and the terms and conditions of service of the teachers and other non-teaching staff; (4) the conferment and withdrawal of honorary degrees and academic distinctions; 266 The Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswa Vidyalaya Act, 1974. (5) the establishment, amalgamation, subdivision and abolition of faculties; (6) the establishment of departments of teaching in the faculties; (7) the terms and conditions of service of the Vice-Chancellor; (8) the establishment of a pension or provident fund or any other insurance scheme for the benefit of officers, teachers and other employees of the University; and (9) all other matters which are required to be or may be prescribed.
