(1) Subject to the provisions of this Act the members of the teaching staff of the University shall be appointed by the Vice- Chancellor with the approval of the Board. All other officers and other employees shall be appointed by such authorities as may be prescribed. (2) Subject to the provisions of the Statutes every officer and teacher of the University shall be appointed under a written contract. The contract shall be lodged with the Vice-Chancellor and a copy thereof shall be furnished to the officer or teacher concerned. (3) The number of teachers, officers and other employees of the University and the method of their selection shall, unless otherwise provided in this Act, be such as may be prescribed.
