(1) The Governor of West Bengal shall be the Chancellor of the University. (2) The Chancellor shall be the Head of the University and shall, when present, preside at any Convocation of the University. (3) Every proposal to confer any honorary degree shall be subject to confirmation by the Chancellor. (4) The Chancellor shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed on him by this Act.
