- A person shall be disqualified for being appointed as, or holding the office of, a Member, if he— (a) has been convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for an offence which, in the opinion of the State Government, involves moral turpitude; (b) is an undischarged insolvent; (c) is of unsound mind and stands so declared by a competent court; (d) has been removed or dismissed from the service of the Government or a body corporate owned or controlled by the Government; (e) is not a citizen of India, or has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a foreign State, or is under any acknowledgement of allegiance or adherence to a foreign State; or (f) has any other disqualification as may, in consultation with the Chairperson, be prescribed.
