(1) When special police protection is in the opinion of the State Government, requisite on the occasion of a fair, agricultural show or industrial exhibition managed by a Municipality, the [State Government]1 may provide such protection and the Municipality shall pay the whole charges thereof or such portion of such charge as the [State Government]1 considers equitably payable by it.
