Subs. by section 6 ibid. * According to section 33 of the Uttar Pradesh [Municipal Corporation]9 (Amendment) Act1977 (U. P. Act. No. 12 of 1977) notwithstanding anything contained in the principal Act, or in the delimination orders already issued under section 32 of the principal Act, but without prejudice to the powers of the State government under section 33 of that Act, all such delimination orders shall continue to remain in operation with the modification that for each ward there shall be two seats of Sabhasads instead of one as mentioned in such orders : Provided that the State Government may by notified order redistribute the total number of seats reserved for members of Scheduled Castes among different wards, and it shall not be necessary to publish any draft proposals in this regard for objections before making such notified order. [The Uttar Pradesh [Municipal Corporation]1 Act, 1959] [Section 33-35] 301 (a) devide a [[municipal corporation]8 area]5 into wards in such manner that the population in each ward shall, so for as practicable, be the dame throughout the [[municipal corporation]8 area; (b) determine the number of wards into which a [[municipal corporation]8 area]5 shall be devided; (c) determine the extent of each ward; (d) determine the number of seats to be reserved for the Scheduled Castes, the Scheduled Tribes, the Backward Classes or the women.]4 (2) The draft of the Order under sub-section (1) shall be published in the official Gazette for objections for a period of less than [seven days]6. (3) The State Government shall consider any objections filed under sub- section (2) and the draft Order shall, if necessary, be amended, altered or modified accordingly and thereupon it shall become final. Alteration or amendment of Delimitation order and ets effect 33- (1) The State Government may by a subsequent Order, alter or amend any final Order under sub-section (3) of section 32. [(1-A) For the alteration or amendment of any order under sub-section (1), the provisions of sub-sections (2) and (3) of section 32 shall mutatis mutandis apply.]7 (2) Upon alteration or amendment of any final Order tinder this section the State Government shall apportion the existing Sabhasads to the altered or amended wards so as to provide so far as is reasonably practicable tor their continuing to represent as large a number as possible of their former constituents. (3) An existing Sabhasad shall hold his office in the ward to which he is assigned for the same period that he would have' held it had the wards, remained unaltered and unamended. Electors and Electoral Rolls 34- [***]2 Electoral Roll for each ward [35 - There shall be an electoral roll for each ward which shall be prepared in accordance with the provisions of this Act, under the Superintendence, direction and control of the State Election Commission.]3
