Subs. by section 98 (e) ibid. [The Uttar Pradesh [Kshettra Panchayats and Zila Panchayats]1 Adhiniyam, 1961] [Section 89-90] Method of election and term of committees 89 - (1) The method of election of members of all committeees mentioned in section 87 and of the Vice-Chairman of the [Vitta Evam Vikas Samiti of the Shiksha Samiti and of the Samata Samiti]2 and of the Chairman and Vice- Chairman of other committees shall be as may be prescribed. (2)The term of each committee specified in sub-section (1) and (2) of section 87 shall be one year from the date of the first meeting of the committee but in no case extend beyond he term of the [Kshettra Panchayat]1. 293 [Constitution of Committees of Kshettra Panchayat notified by the State Government 89-A (1) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in any other provisions of this Act or the rules made thereunder, every Kshettra Panchayat shall, in place of all or any of the committees referred to in sectioin 87, hereinafter in this section referred to as the erstwhile Committee, Constitute such other Committee or Committees, as may be notified by the State Government for exercise and performance of all or ay of the powers, functions or duties assigned to the erstwhile committee under this Act and may also delegate to such committee or committees such of its other powers, functions or duties assigned to erstwhile committee under this Act and may also delegate to such committee or committees such of its other powers, functions or duties as it may deem fit and upon constitution of a Committee under this section in place of an erstwhile committee with respect to its any specified power, function or duty, the erstwhile committee with respect to that power, function or duty shall stand abolished and any reference to the erstwhile committee in any provisions of this Act or the rules made thereunder shall be construed as a reference to the Committee constituted under this section. (2) Every Committee constituted under sub-section (1) shall consist of a Chairman and six other members, who shall be elected by the members of the Kshettra Panchayat from amongst themselves in such manner as may be notified by the State Government : Provided that in each such committee there shall be at least one woman member, one member belonging to Schedule Castes or Scheduled Tribes and one member belonging to Backward Classes : Provided further that the State Government may, by notifications direct that the Pramukh, Senior Up-Pramukh or Junior Up-Pramukh of any other member of Kshettra Panahayat shall be the Chairman of any such Committee.]6 Sub- committees 90 - (1) The [Kshettra Panchayat]1 may, by resolution, out of the members of the [Vitta Evam Vikas Samiti, Shiksha Samiti or Samata Samiti]3 constitute one or more than one sub-committee and assign to it such of the functions of the [Vitta Evam Vikas Samiti, Shiksha Samiti or Samata Samiti]3, as the case may be, as it thinks fit. (2) Any committee mentioned in section 87 may out of its members constitute one or more than one sub-committee to assist it in the discharge of any duty or class of duties imposed upon sub-committee. (3) The composition and term of such sub-committees and the manner of filling casual vacancies shall be such as may be decided by the [Kshettra Panchayat]1 or the committee, as the case may be.
