Where the parent or guardian of a child applies to a Court that he is unable to control the child and prays that the child be sent to an approved school, the Court, if satisfied after enquiry that it is expedient so to deal with the child, and that the parent or guardian understands the result which will follow, may order the child to be sent to any such school or may order him to be placed for a specified period, not exceeding three years, under the supervision of a Reformation Officer.
