The intimation in a scheme notified under sub-section (1) of section 12 of the intention to apply or use the water of any river or stream flowing in a natural channel, or of any lake or other natural collection of still water, for the purpose of the work to which the scheme relate, shall operate as a notification under section 5 of the Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, 1873 declaring that the said water will be so applied or used on the expiration of three months from the date of the notification.
